A new direction for our Association - please read.

Throughout fiscal year 2021/22 the attendance at our monthly meeting has continued to
decline. A recent survey to all members indicates less than half are interested in continuing
their membership. We have always had problems with finding new members. As our
membership ages, many are unable to attend. At our August meeting with 6 of our members
present, the future of our association was discussed. The results of this discussion suggest
that we meet informally (usually every other month) for fiscal year 2022/23.

In early September our Board meet and took the following steps:

Article V, Meetings, Section 1, Monthly Membership Meetings states meetings shall be held
on the second Thursday of each month, or as the Board of Directors may decide. The Board
of Directors have agreed to meet informally for fiscal year 2022/23.

The Board established meeting dates for five meetings as follows:

(1) October 29,2022, 10AM. This meeting will be held at the parking lot of the Plymouth
Congregational Church, 1301 Oak St., Paso Robles, Ca, to assemble the doll cradles and
prepare the toys to be donated to the Toy Bank in December.

(2) The second Saturday of January (1/14/23); March (3/11);May (5/13/23); and July
(7/15/23). These meetings will be held in a member’s shop. The agenda of each meeting will
be to update the members on Association activities, Sawdust Sam presentations by the
members, and a demonstration of woodworking projects.

As required by Section 5, Duties of officers, Directors, and Special appointments, subsection
(G) the Board appointed Wayne Snowbarger as Special Projects Director to plan, schedule,
and coordinate these meetings.

Since there were no candidates for the offices of President, 1 st Vice President, and 2 nd Vice
President, the Board has opted to leave these positions vacant and accept the nominations
provided for the offices of Secretary, Treasurer, Toy Bank Coordinator, and Webmaster as
follows:
Secretary – Jeff Koligian
Treasurer – Peter Lischerelli
Toy Bank Coordinator – Jim Davis
Webmaster – Jerry Sprouse

Please contact Wayne at 1 805 400 5703 for more information about our future meetings.

Our Members Skills and Interests. Our Members have a wide variety of woodworking skills and interests. Some are beginners who started doing small projects after retirement; others have been doing woodworking during their entire working career. Some do single pieces of furniture up to an entire room of cabinets and tables. Other are experts with the lathe and make bowels and/or pens. Several members are experts with the scoll saw and /or band saw. Some make toys for the toy bank every year while others like to make musical instruments.
